Windows 2000: How To Verify MDAC 2.8 Is Installed

This check is performed on the GoldMine Server and the Web Server.

To check to see what version of MDAC you have installed, do the following:

•	For Windows 2000 Only (Not Required by Windows XP, Windows 2003 (All Editions), Windows Vista (Business or Ultimate) or Windows 2008 (All Editions)

1.	Click Start and then click Run.

2.	In the Open box, type Regedit and then click OK.

3.	Look for the following key in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DataAccess\FullInstallVer

4.	If the version number is 2.8x.xxxx.x or higher, then MDAC 2.8 (or higher) installed.

NOTE: If you need to install MDAC 2.8, the server(s) will require a restart.
