The following pre-installation checklist is designed to help you prepare your environment for wMobile.  By verifying all the items on the list, you are ensuring that your installation of wMobile will be successful.  If you are unsure about anything on the list, the 'How do I...' and 'Discussion...' links in the 'See Also' Section for each item will help you check, complete or understand any requirement on the list.
 
NOTE:  Unless specifically stated, restarting the server will NOT BE required when installing any of the prerequisites.

 

Operating System Requirements
 
Verify that the server or servers you are installing wMobile on have the following minimum operating system requirements.
GoldMine Server
·Windows 2003 Server (All Editions) (32-Bit or 64-Bit Editions)
·Windows 2008 Server (All Editions) (32-Bit or 64-Bit Editions)

 

Web Server
·Windows 2003 Server (All Editions) (32-Bit or 64-Bit Editions)
·Windows 2008 Server (All Editions) (32-Bit or 64-Bit Editions)

GoldMine Version Requirements
 
Verify that GoldMine Version meets the minimum requirements:
GoldMine Corporate Edition, Version 6.0 or higher.
GoldMine Corporate Edition, Version 7.0 or higher.
GoldMine Premium Edition, Version 8.0 or higher.
GoldMine Premium Edition, Version 9.0 or higher.

GoldMine Database Requirements
 
Verify that all your GoldMine database tables are in one single SQL database.  wMobile does not support multiple contact sets in different SQL databases or systems with GoldMine common tables in a different database than the contact set database.

GM.INI Settings
 
Verify that the 'SYSDIR' setting in the GM.INI does not point to a mapped driver letter.

.Net Framework
 
.NET Framework 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5 SP1 are required. If not present, the wMobile installer will install .NET Framework 3.5 (which includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0).  If .NET Framework 3.5 is not already installed, a reboot might be necessary depending on which components are installed.

Internet Information Services (IIS)
 
Verify that you have Internet Information Services (IIS) installed on the Web Server.

ASP.NET 2.0
 
Verify that ASP.NET 2.0 is installed on the Web Server.

SQL Server Login Credentials
 
Verify or Create a SQL username and password that is mapped to the GoldMine Database and has 'db_owner' role membership.

      NOTE:  wMobile will create objects in the GoldMine database.  The db_owner role is required to create these objects and for wMobile to work properly.

Service Account for Remote GoldMine Service
 
Verify that you have a Windows Username and Password that can be used to start the Remote GoldMine Service.
The Username must have the following permissions on the GoldMine Folder:
oModify
oRead & Execute
oList folder contents
oRead
oWrite

Open Port(s) In The Firewall
 
Verify that ports have been opened from the firewall to the Web Server.
