Fast Contact Search

Previous topic Next topic

Under the wMobile application logo you will find the Fast Contact Search feature. This allows you to type in any portion of any contact name, company name,  phone1, phone2 or phone3 values to quickly find a contact in the database. By default, wMobile is set to search set for Primary contacts (see selected radio button in example image below). Alternately, you may choose to select the Additional radio button causing the scope of your search will be narrowed down to additional contacts only. When using the Additional radio button, you may still use text for all or part of the company name if known along with the contact name.

Example Search:

You have the need to search for a person named: "Susan" and you also know that Susan works for a company named: "ABC Company". In wMobile, simply type "susan abc" (without quotes) into the Fast Contact Search box and click the <Search> button.

wMobile will search for both contact names and company names for any combination of the words you have entered into the Fast Contact Search box.

Type your search text in the field as shown: fast_search_03

Phone Number Searching:

If you enter numeric data into the Fast Contact Search box, wMobile will search the phone fields.

notes  NOTE: Phone1, Phone2 and Phone3 are GoldMine's CONTACT1 table column names. The "labels" associated with these phone fields may be different.

Example Results:

The Fast Contact Search results will display in a list similar to the one shown here.

In the results listing you will see a portion of the details available for each of the contacts that were found based on your search criteria. To see the details for one of these contacts click on the contact's name link (e.g., Susan Smith).  When the contacts result list is displayed, for any contacts that do not have a "contact name", wMobile will display N/A. Click on the N/A link to see that contact's details.

For each contact listed there will be two links: [Pending][History]. These links open the following:

The Pending link opens the Contact Pending Activities page (displays: all activity types)

The History link opens the Contact History Activities  page (displays: all activity types)

Get information on the Contact Detail screen.

notes  NOTES:

(1) In wMobile, email addresses and phone numbers are available as hyperlinks for quick access to your email client and to dial the viewed phone number.

(2) In the contact results listing there may be shortcuts to common contact commands such as Pending and History. In the example above they are displayed as: [Pending][History] and are links that may be used to view the pending activities (those that are scheduled) or activity history (those that have been completed) for the listed contact.
