There are many instances when you may need to log a historical record of an activity you have completed that was not previously scheduled. A cold call would be an example of this or even an appointment you found yourself at that was not previously scheduled but you would like to have a record of it linked to a contact for future reference. The Complete Unscheduled Activity feature allows you to create a history record for tasks you have completed without the need for a pre-existing scheduled activity.

From the Complete Unscheduled Activity drop-down, you may choose the specific type of activity to be completed (i.e., Call, Next Action, Appointment, Sale or Other) and then click the <GO> button.

The page that appears will allow you to enter the data for the activity type you wish to create a history record for. When completing unscheduled activities, certain fields, like Reference and Code will allow you to choose from a drop-down list or type in your own entry within the text box.

If you need to assign this activity to a different user or a different linked contact, select them from the drop-down lists. Other available fields are Reference, Code, Result, Notes, and Opportunity/Project.

Set the Date, Time and Duration entry drop-downs.

You may optionally schedule a follow up activity by placing a check in the check box and selecting an activity type from the drop-down list. With Schedule Follow Up checked, immediately after <OK> is  clicked to save the unscheduled activity history record, you will be in edit mode to create the follow up activity record.

Click the <OK> button to save the completed unscheduled activity. This activity will appear immediately in GoldMine!
